About Our Family European Toy Business
euroSource and euroToyShop.com were founded March of 1999 in the community of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, USA. operated by two stay-at-home dads,
it was a natural mix of entreprenurial spirit and child rearing, teaching, cooking, ... but children grow, parents age, and things change. Now euroSource LLC
is operated by the original founder and his family.
In the Beginning
euroSource was conceived in December of 1998 when I wanted to purchase some European toys like I had seen in Europe, but couldn't locate a source in the USA.
What I did locate was an importer in New York who would sell me cases of toys. The internet (and especially e-commerce) was young then. Already consulting
in distributed networks, databases and web sites, I used my expertise to build an e-commerce venture to sell the toys. Hey, if I wanted to buy them, then certainly others did too!
Guiding Principles
We are guided by three simple principles:
- Provide European toys that encourage a child's development rather than entertain them.
- Provide an excellent customer experience through all interactions, virtual and physical.
- Be honest in all our business dealings.
Going Green
In our everyday operations, we try to operate as "greenly" as possible. That means reuse first, recycle second. All of our packing materials come from
local businesses with incoming shipments. We keep it from entering the waste stream. We also reuse boxes. Sometimes you may receive your shipment in a box that was used for
one of our incoming shipments or used by a local business.
Meet the Family
euroSource LLC is run by the Hertzler
family.
Randy, PresidentEnjoying the heart of life that includes juggling family, business and church. Though it does not seem possible, add biking, traveling and staying environmentally 'green'. "Dad, can't we drive to market? No, son, biking saves money, keeps you fit, AND saves otters, penguins and all those other animals you like!"
Kathy, DirectorHappily being an organizer by day for Franklin & Marshall College and keeping that college fund going. Wish there was more time for those finely prepared meals, but alas convenience sometimes trumps 'finely'. "Mom, can you play Wii with me? Yes, but my tennis arm is sore!"
Ian, OperationsBegrudgingly attending school because that is what boys do. But lucky enough to be successful and to cruise through lessons, lectures and chores and anything else thrown past. "Think I'll grab that blanket and read."
Nic, OperationsBegrudgingly attending school because that is what boys do. Is there an echo in here? The real question, and there are many - when's dinner, where's that hat and can I make eggs? "Datwhog disog doingog donog?"
FlomarAlways looking at you with those big brown eyes and tail wagging. "Please take me outside, throw the ball, woof." |
